Should we obey the government?

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.

Romans 13.3-4

  • Dear Tony.
I have subscribed to LfLD for years… since it was only a paper post! I am grateful to follow you online now.

I have just listened to the above sermon. I believe you are correct in all points.

However, I am surprised and disappointed that you make no mention, even in passing, of the way in which all vaccines are dependent upon the use of aborted foetal cell lines.

The shedding of innocent blood, especially that of babies, is an abomination to God. For an experienced Bible teacher, like yourself, I’m sure you know this already. Please would you consider preparing a teaching on why God would never honour ‘protecting ourselves’ from disease with a method which is an abomination to Him. Abortion is clearly our modern child sacrifice made to the idol of sex. So we, as a culture, are involved in both idolatry and child sacrifice. When I say ‘we as a culture’ I do not exclude the church.

This takes me to 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.“

Who are “my people, who are called by my name” if not the church? Are we, as His people, condemning easy abortion in our society. I suggest this is still a very ‘fringe’ church activity (except maybe for the Roman church).

    Sorry for the long comment…
    I appreciate your voice!

    • Thank you Jo, and sorry for the late reply.
We have indeed abandoned the most pressing and important allegiance to our God, to life itself in both society but also in the church.
I have some talks and articles on ‘foundations’ which may be of interest to you if you haven’t already seen them:
Thank you for your comments and Go bless!
