8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Philippians 4:8

Last night, I submitted myself to something which was totally impure, unholy, and wicked: the Eurovision Song Contest. I didn’t do it because I like the music; I don’t like that music. But I wanted to see what Israel was singing, and I also wanted to see if the UK song was as bad as they said it was going to be, and the Irish song was as bad as they said it was going to be.

For the same reasons I ‘watched’ the Eurovision Song Contest final, but with the mute button most of the time and flicking to channel 2 when the imagery was so bad I would not want that evil in my mind. I watched & listened to the Israel song, it seemed to stand out as more wholesome but sadly still pandered to the need for modern choreography. I remember the likes of Dana and Jonny… (can’t remember his name) singing for Ireland in a simple way without any choreography or indecent imagery. It’s sicking how society has changed in only a few decades. Apparently it’s evident in films (which I don’t watch) and in many TV programmes (I don’t watch them either).
Next time, I won’t watch Eurovision because it was horrid and evil.
This time I voted for Israel & I see she got the maximum viewer votes which Eurovision allow. That was a great comfort: the ‘silent majority’ backing Israel like that was incredibly encouraging. Those votes are the reason she came 5th!
That bible verse is so appropriate for this evil event we call the Eurovision Song Contest. A sign of the End Times when such evil abounds.
Amen! And thank you Jenny.
Agreed Jenny, though l didn’t watch through choice l have seen the Edan Golan song and words and apparently the original title was October Rain..,but it had to be changed.. also a few more lines. But it clearly spoke of the sheer pain and emotion of ‘The Hurricane’ of Oct 7th.. The dancers, at least for the most part, seemed to express pain and grieff and trauma.. Then it quirky ended with words of Prayer. Very moving.
Edan Golan was brave indeed to withstand the booing and protests.. l cried a few time having listened on clips afterwards.. never forgetting Oct 7th and ongoing pain.. Maranatha..
Correction my last comment said the song ended with ‘Quirky’ prayer) ..SORRY. it should have said .. ‘QUIETYLY..’
I made a comment but it hasn’t appeared ,so my last comment won’t make sense ,apologies..
I don’t know anything about the final – I find the music of Eurovision detestable, even without the evil running amok in our media. But I saw a couple of clips on social media a couple of weeks ago, one from Lithuania (I think) with the singer wearing an enormous pair of Satan horns, and a potential Irish contender with the singer dressed in something like a black catsuit, but wearing horns, and singing in favour of witchcraft.
Could we be in the time when “he that restrains” is being taken away?
Indeed David, God is holding on to His wrath for the sake of those who haven’t yet been saved. In His mercy, He will keep us from eternal evil until His time has come.
Blessings and thank you for your comments.
I recently committed to the Lord and before that I used to watch Eurovision every year because I really enjoyed it. I watched it this year because my husband wanted to and he is unsaved. We had a very different reaction. This time it was like the scales had dropped from my eyes. It was painful to watch. I have never seen such an overt evil display before as put out by Ireland but there were quite a few acts where the enemy’s stamp was all over it. The UK’s staging for one and probably worse the winner who sings about going to hell and back to break the genetic code and deny male/female identity. This world is getting darker by the day. I just thank the Lord that He is ultimately in control!
Thank you Paula for sharing your experience with us. The image of the scales dropping from your eyes and allowing you to see the reality is a wonderful expression of what knowing the Lord Jesus does for us all. Your words of wisdom show that even though you only recently committed to the Lord, you are firmly established in our faith.
All blessings to you and your husband, may he too enjoy the wisdom of our God in Christ Jesus the Messiah.
You’re a braver man than I Tony. I find any public, and modern, event tainted these days. From satanic ritualism to global politics….I just know what I’m in for sadly. Your sermons are inspiring Tony. Hope too that your health is ok.

Thank you Léon for your kind words. May the Lord continue to bless you and yours.
