In the Lord’s prayer, Jesus gives us a guideline as to how to pray. Now, you can just repeat the words and you know we pray the prayer at the beginning of the service. That’s good! It’s done to remind us of what God has taught us to pray. However, the words are, in one sense, a pattern prayer. They tell us how to approach God and what’s needful when we pray. They can also...
Our response to Jesus Christ
They had to repent and believe, be baptized on confession of their faith.
So, being baptized, they were acknowledging that they believed that Jesus died for their sins and rose from the dead and therefore they would receive the Holy Spirit to a new life.
