The old man, die to self – Daniel Bishop

T

Colossians 3, verses 5-9 I’ve titled this ‘The old man – die to self‘. 5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. 8 But now...

Seek Christ – Daniel Bishop

S

I’ve titled this first part ‘Seeking Christ’ verses 1 to 4, If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory...

Character of the new man – Daniel Bishop

Colossians 3.1-4

Resurrection or re-incarnation

R

25 For I know that my Redeemer lives,And He shall stand at last on the earth;26 And after my skin is destroyed, this I know,That in my flesh I shall see God,27 Whom I shall see for myself,And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!

Job 19.25-27

Our response to Jesus Christ

O

They had to repent and believe, be baptized on confession of their faith.
So, being baptized, they were acknowledging that they believed that Jesus died for their sins and rose from the dead and therefore they would receive the Holy Spirit to a new life.
There had to be a response. And that response is important.
It's important that each one of us, individually, makes a response to Jesus Christ.
