UN ‘Summit of the Future’
The United Nation’s Summit of the Future is being promoted as a once-in-a-generation opportunity to “transform the global governance!” It is scheduled at the UN in New York City for September 22-23, 2024. The top priority for the meeting is to “Transform global governance and turbocharge the implementation of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development.”
At the upcoming meeting, UN Secretary Antonio Guterres plans to ask for a vote empowering him to decide when the next “global shock” of any kind seems to be developing in any country so that he can then organise an ‘emergency platform’ in response on behalf of the world.
According to investigative journalist, Alex Newman, who has attended a number of such events, this proposed UN “emergency platform” will empower the Secretary-General to seize the relevant functions of national governments in order to resist the alleged or potential new “shock.” Exactly what constitutes a world-shocking event? He says it can be anything, “even Black Swan events.” A black swan event is defined in dictionaries as a “high-impact event that is unpredicted or unexpected”—in other words, it’s “anything I say it is.” The recent worldwide Covid event could be described as a ‘black swan’ event.
The conference in September 2024 aims to address the current world crisis in relation to plans to save the world from climate change, war and financial crisis. One aspect of its “Summit of the Future” will be proposals for ‘A Global Digital Compact and reforms to the International Financial Architecture’ (the world economic system).
Among the proposals are a new “apex body” in charge of the entire financial system that will “enhance its coherence and align its priorities with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.” According to Guterres, this could be done through a twice yearly summit between the G20, the UN Economic and Social Council, and heads of international financial institutions. This will further integrate the G20 with the United Nations into a body that can be described as an economic Security Council. The G20 currently includes the US, UK, EU, Russia, China, Japan, Brazil, South Africa and Saudi Arabia. In other words, both parts of the US led western alliance and the eastern alliance led by China and the BRICS countries.
A vital part of the agenda is ‘digital connectivity’ and the establishment of a Global Digital Compact, which will create a digitally connected network of people, entities, devices, and things, directed by those who run the system. This is also what the World Economic Forum prescribed in their report ‘Unlocking Technologies for the Global Goals in 2020.’ A Digital ID is a cornerstone in this work and is seen among other things as a way to reduce poverty. The digital ID system is already in place in the two most populous nations on earth, China, with its Credit Score system, and in India with its Aadhaar card.
The risk is that this will develop into a dictatorial form of government that will use the social credit system and Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) to undermine human rights by controlling the money supply and people’s ability to use it. This is already happening in China. When fully operational it can be programmed to make you obey instructions from the Masters that run the show in order to receive your daily bread. The people in power could declare a “Planetary Emergency” as happened during the pandemic. They then take away our freedoms in order to save the world from disaster. The man with the plan appears and imposes the 666 system of Revelation 13.
US Federal Interest Payments Top $1 Trillion
One trillion dollars: that 13-digit figure is how much the U.S. federal government is paying annually in interest — not principal, just interest — on its debt. The money owed in interest is only about 3% of the total debt. “We’re over $35 trillion in debt right now,” said Heritage Foundation Research Fellow E.J. Antoni on “Washington Watch” last week, and “we’re going to hit $36 trillion before the end of the year.”
And now, “trillion” is the number of dollars the U.S. federal government owes in interest in a single year. The U.S. Treasury Department reported on Thursday that the government has spent $1.049 trillion in interest payments over the past 11 months (since October), 30% higher than the same period last year. The Treasury Department expects to pay out $1.158 trillion on interest over the full fiscal year.
The mindboggling benchmark overstates the true state of affairs, but only marginally. In addition to its staggering debt burden, the federal government also earns interest on investments. After taking these into account, the government’s net interest payments total $843 billion, or just under $1 trillion.
As a result “The net interest payments made by the government now exceed government spending on every other category except Social Security and Medicare,” noted former congressman and Family Research Council Action President Jody Hice. Interest payments are now more than defence spending, and are also more than non-defence discretionary spending.
Rising interest payments didn’t cause America’s debt crisis, but they can make it worse. For decades, unsustainable entitlement programs have been a ticking time bomb with no politically survivable solution. Add onto that the regular government pork, a COVID-era bacchanalia that would make the prodigal son blush, and growing foreign threats requiring vigorous military preparations. America already landed itself in a box canyon of nearly impossible fiscal math while interest payments erode the ground under its feet.
The interest payments also “account for about half of all personal income taxes collected” this fiscal year, noted Antoni. If a private citizen spent half his salary paying the interest on his credit cards, his friends and family would stage an intervention! “Obviously this kind of debt and interest rates are totally, totally unsustainable,” warned Hice. Clearly, the problem is a spending addiction, not cash flow.
But, for now, both sides of Uncle Sam’s family are content to ride the gravy train. “Having been there, done that … now wearing the t-shirt, it doesn’t appear to me there is any political will whatsoever … on either side of the aisle, to address this problem,” observed Hice. “If the government keeps spending money it doesn’t have, if we keep borrowing ourselves into oblivion, expect more … inflation,” Antoni declared. “Expect a furthering of this cost-of-living crisis …. Expect homeownership affordability to get even worse than it already is.”
America’s politicians have traded the future for the present, and American voters have rewarded this foolishness. Proverbs warns twice, “The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it” (Proverbs 22:3, 27:12). America refuses to heed the danger and will most likely suffer for it.

‘Stop the war! It is madness’
President Putin is facing a Kremlin revolt as his Ukraine war plan is failing. Many in the Kremlin are “unhappy” while a prominent Russian oligarch has told Vladimir Putin to agree to a ceasefire. Putin is facing more and more opposition in the Kremlin as oligarchs and politicians begin to voice anger over the war in Ukraine. Oleg Deripaska, one of the richest Russian oligarchs, did an interview in Japan saying this war should stop immediately and it is madness. Russian experts are saying that Deripaska would not be saying this if other influential people didn’t agree with him.
Putin does not show signs of backing down however. Now he has made clear to the west that if long range NATO missiles supplied to Ukraine hit targets inside Russia, he will see this as a declaration of war against Russia and respond accordingly. What that response will be, we don’t know. It could be cyber or missile attacks, or, in the worst case, nuclear attacks.
One of Putin’s state TV propagandists has suggested that Russia should build plywood replicas of Washington DC and London and then bomb them to show what Russia could do to Western cities. There are reports of Russian intelligence agencies contacting criminals directly to target the West amid “the most intense” sabotage campaign since the Second World War.
Putin has ordered a dramatic increase in the size of the Russian army. The addition of around 180,000 troops would see a 1.5-million-strong fighting force, second in size only to China. The Kremlin said the order was needed to address growing threats on Russia’s western borders and instability to the east. However he is finding it difficult to recruit more troops given the huge scale of losses on the battle front.
Official figures put Russia’s losses at 70,000 troops, however the Ukrainian General Staff estimates that Russian combat losses amount to 616,300 troops, 180,000 killed and up to 500,000 injured or missing. As of September 1, 2024, Russian tank losses in Ukraine reached 8,592 units, in addition to 16,760 lost armoured personnel vehicles. In more than 30 months of full-scale war, Ukrainian forces also managed to destroy 28 Russian warships and boats, including the infamous “Moskva”, the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, as well as one submarine.
Clearly we live in perilous times as the Bible prophesies. Russia has been weakened by the Ukraine war, which does raise a question mark over its ability to go into another war in Middle East as leader of the Gog and Magog alliance coming against Israel. If Russia ends up in defeat in Ukraine the country could fall apart.
Some say that Turkey will then end up as the leading power coming from the north. President Erdogan has recently speculated about the possibility or Turkey invading Israel! We wait and see how this will work out, meanwhile praying for an end to this terrible war in Ukraine which has brought such ruin to both sides.
China set to trigger global meltdown
Beijing’s economy is falling into a death spiral and could soon drag us all down. Yet we’re pretending nothing is happening. China is the world’s second-biggest economy, after growing at breakneck speed for decades. Yet now it’s in deep trouble and authoritarian leader Premier Xi Jinping can’t save it. The Chinese economy is on the brink. Given its size, that’s not just a problem for the country’s population of 1.4billion, but everyone in the world.
Spencer Hakimian, founder of Tolou Capital Management, says we need to wake up to the sheer scale of the threat. “The biggest story in the world right now is China,” he said. “Everything else is secondary.” He added: “The last time China was deflating this hard, it was 3% of global GDP. Now it is 20%.” His conclusion: “This cannot be ignored or discounted.”
The country is drowning in debt after borrowing trillions to power up the economy and fund its infrastructure splurge. This has created the mother of all property bubbles, and now it’s bursting. Developer Evergrande went bust last year, owing more than $300billion (£230billion) and threatening contagion throughout the Chinese property and banking sector. Chinese share prices have fallen by double digits for three years in a row, even as they boom in the US.
Now the country is heading into a deflationary spiral. Deflation happens when prices start to fall instead of rise. That may sound appealing, but there’s a problem. Once deflation kicks in, people delay buying goods and services, knowing they’ll be cheaper tomorrow. Company sales and profits fall as a result. This forces them to lay off workers, who have less money and spend less, which forces prices even lower in an endless vicious circle.
Premier Jinping is under pressure to spend up to $1.4trillion fighting deflation, but this will require yet more borrowing. Nobody can say for sure how much China owes, because Beijing’s statistics are unreliable. But it could be as much as 360% of its annual economic output. That’s three times bigger than the heavily indebted US.
A growing trade war with the West is hitting Chinese exports. Worse, the country’s massive population is now going into a sharp decline as Chinese people have fewer children, which means fewer workers, lower consumption and even weaker economic growth. China was supposed to have overtaken the US to become the world’s biggest economy by now. It’s never going to happen. The country is deflating on every front. And now it’s going to export that deflation to us.
Footnote: If you put the last three items in this column together you will notice that apparently insoluble crises are coming down the line to hit three of the great powers on earth, the USA, Russia and China. Of course, the EU and UK are not out of the firing line. Will one or all of these things coming together trigger the ‘black swan event’ we mention in our first article on the UN Summit of the Future,? If so, it could cause the proposed UN emergency platform to be activated, which will empower the UN Secretary-General to seize the relevant functions of national governments.
Hezbollah faces rebellion inside Lebanon
Hezbollah could face armed resistance from within Lebanon, as Christian groups are “threatening to take arms” against them. Note: Lebanon is divided between three main religious groups, Sunni Muslims, Shiite Muslims (who back Hezbollah) and Christians (mainly Maronites allied to Roman Catholicism).
Avi Melamed, a former Israeli intelligence official, says Hezbollah’s aggression against Israel in recent months has angered some within Lebanon, and could lead to armed resistance. He said: “The Christian-affiliated forces are already threatening to take weapons into their hands because they are fed up with Hezbollah’s rule. They know that a full scale war with Israel could mean the violent disintegration of Lebanon. Christian-affiliated groups have posed the most significant opposition to Hezbollah inside Lebanon. In May, the leader of a main Christian political party in Lebanon hit out at Hezbollah for escalating the conflict with Israel.
He added: “There is a lot of resentment and animosity towards Hezbollah from the Lebanese across the world. “The Lebanese are crying, saying to the world ‘help us, we are occupied by Iranian Hezbollah.’
Sunni Muslims from across the Arab world are also opposed to Hezbollah. They are particularly incensed against the role Hezbollah played in putting down the Sunni Muslim led rebellion against Assad in the Syrian civil war. Saudi Arabia is also extremely hostile to Hezbollah, as it is to the whole Iran linked Shiite alliance in the Arab world.
Pope on the road to interfaith unity or heresy?
Pope Francis embarked on a 12-day tour of four nations in Southeast Asia, beginning his tour with a visit to Jakarta, Indonesia, home to the largest Muslim population in the world. In Jakarta, the pope met with Indonesia’s grand imam, Nasaruddin Umar, at the entrance to the “Tunnel of Friendship” which connects Istiqlal Mosque to the nearby Catholic Cathedral, Our Lady of the Assumption.
Present were representatives of the six religions that are officially recognized in Indonesia: Islam, Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism, Catholicism and Protestantism. The Catholic Pope and the Muslim Imam pledged to work together to fight religiously inspired violence and protect the planet. They issued a joint call for interfaith friendship and common cause at the heart of Francis’ visit to Indonesia. Pope Francis received a kiss on the head from the Imam while kissing his hand in response.
The pope commented that the tunnel symbolized that different religious traditions “have a role to play in helping everyone pass through the tunnels of life with our eyes turned towards the light.” He encouraged Indonesians of every religious tradition to “walk in search of God and contribute to building open societies, founded on reciprocal respect and mutual love, capable of protecting against rigidity, fundamentalism, and extremism, which are always dangerous and never justifiable.” “I encourage you to continue along this path so that all of us, all of us together, each cultivating his or her own spirituality and practicing his or her religion, may walk in search of God and contribute to building open societies …”
The Pope continued on his interfaith theme when speaking to young people in Singapore during his Asian trip, Pope Francis said:
“Every religion is a way to arrive at God. There are different languages to arrive at God but God is God for all. But my God is more important than your god, is that true? There is only one God and each of has a language to arrive at God. Sikh, Muslim, Hindu, Christian, they are different paths.”
The Pope’s statement “every religion is a way to arrive at God” is a deviation from New Testament teaching and from Roman Catholic doctrine. Calling his statement ‘heretical’ the traditional Catholic website Lifesite News wrote:
‘According to the teaching of the Catholic Church, the only true Church is indeed the Catholic Church, the Body of Christ (Eph 1:22), and it exercises the charge given by Christ to spread the Gospel to all nations and to bring souls into the Church (Mark 16). … Catholic author Erik Ybarra condemned Pope Francis’ statement as coming from ‘a bottomless pit’. … ‘What the Pope is saying here is that the variety of religions, all which contradict each other theologically, are not anymore in competition than are the diverse languages of the world.”

As evangelical Christians we disagree that the Catholic Church is the only true Church. Salvation is by grace alone and faith alone and in Christ alone. It is available to all who call on the name of the Lord in repentance and faith in the Gospel and the true church is made up of all who have accepted Jesus as Saviour and Lord. Historically the Roman Catholic system has deviated from New Testament teaching and suppressed the Gospel message.
However, we do agree that the Pope teaching that all religions are paths to God is heretical according to Biblical teaching. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14.6. Peter said about Jesus:
‘There is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.’
Paul wrote:
5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 6 who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, 1 Timothy 2.5-6
The Bible speaks of the emergence of a religious system known as Mystery Babylon that will be in alliance with the ‘kings of the earth’. This will produce a false form of Christianity that will suppress the true faith in Jesus Christ (Revelation 17.1-6). Reformed Protestants have seen the Roman Catholic Church as ‘Mystery Babylon’ corrupting Christendom in an alliance with the kings and ruling powers of the earth. This certainly happened when the Medieval Papacy had power over the kings of Europe.
Now the modern Papacy under Pope Francis is attempting to bring together all religions in a false unity that is approved by the global political powers that seek a united world under the UN. Such a religious system will inevitably come into conflict with the true teaching of the Christian faith and persecute the saints, who are all true believers in Jesus Christ.
