Many people today wonder what is the future of our planet. There is widespread anxiety about the financial situation, the spread of weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, the environment, social disorder and violence. Any number of world situations could suddenly tip us over into a frightening new crisis which either creates chaos and anarchy or a dictatorial government with huge technical resources at its disposal to control the population.
Today we see events shaping up for the time of great trouble prophesied by the Lord for the last days of this age: ‘For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.’
