What to do with Gaza?

On February 6th President Trump proposed that the U.S. take control of Gaza, resettle its Palestinian population elsewhere and transform the enclave, which he described as a “demolition site right now,” into a developed hub, which he hoped would become a ‘Middle East Riviera’.

Arab countries, the Palestinians, and other countries around the world, including the UK and EU rejected the president’s proposal. Egypt proposed a plan for the reconstruction of Gaza that would cost $53 billion (£41 billion) and avoid displacing Palestinians from the territory. The plan calls for Gaza to be governed temporarily by a committee of independent experts and for international peacekeepers to be deployed to the territory. The committee would be responsible for overseeing humanitarian aid and temporarily managing Gaza’s affairs under the supervision of the Palestinian Authority.

It looks like neither of these plans are going anywhere because on 18th March, the IDF resumed strikes on Hamas in Gaza, eliminating five senior Hamas officials. These strikes come in direct response to Hamas’s refusal to release the remaining hostages. Intelligence reports confirm that Hamas spent the ceasefire regrouping, strengthening its forces, and preparing for another large-scale invasion against Israel, similar to October 7. The Israeli security cabinet held an emergency meeting, reviewing alarming intelligence that points to Hamas’s ongoing preparations for an invasion. Minister Katz made it clear:

“We must strike them and completely finish the job through both offence and defence.”

Minister Katz

The war is not over, it is escalating.

The problem is that Hamas demands a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and a commitment not to go to war against Gaza again. Israel does not want the Palestinian Authority to manage Gaza, seeing this as a first step towards the creation of a Palestinian State.

Israel fears that the Palestinian Authority has the same basic aim as Hamas, to remove the Jewish state from the map and replace it with a Palestinian State – ‘from the river (Jordan) to the (Mediterranean) Sea’. The goal of the PLO, the military wing of the Palestinian Authority, has long been to set up a state under their control in any part of the land that Israel withdraws from and then use this as a springboard from which to destroy Israel. This was first drawn up in the so called ‘10 Points Phased Policy’ of the PLO back in 1974.

At the release of Israeli hostages on 22nd February, Hamas gave a show of force with masked men brandishing machine guns in front of a slogan which read ‘WE’RE THE FLOOD – THE WAR’S NEXT DAY’ ‘We’re the flood’ relates to the code name ‘The Al Aqsa Flood,’ which Hamas gave to the October 7th massacre which started the war. The flood is a code name for an invasion. Al Aqsa is the Mosque on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem which the Muslims claim absolute sovereignty over. The means it was an invasion with the ultimate goal of bringing about the removal of Israel from Jerusalem and the whole land of Israel. ‘The war’s next day’ means that Hamas is proud of the massacre that took place that day and intends to continue the war until Israel is defeated.

This statement tells us why Israel wants the complete disarmament and removal of Hamas as a military force. It is also a pointer to the fact that no matter what aspect of the conflict you are dealing with ‘Jerusalem is the burdensome stone’ of prophecy (Zechariah 12:1-3).

Syria and Iran

The removal of dictator Bashar Al-Assad of Syria opened the way for a new regime, composed of several terrorist group leaderships, to take control. A recent report tells of a massacre of more than 1,200 Christians in Syria.

‘Churches have been burned, families torn apart, entire communities scattered or lost.  Churches have been desecrated, crosses destroyed, priests murdered, and families driven from their homes in terror. This is nothing short of genocide.’

Terry James of Rapture Ready News adds this information:

‘The Sunni radicals that have taken over Syria are demanding that all Israeli forces must leave Syrian territory. On the other side, the IDF is hammering military targets in southern Syria with a blistering wave of airstrikes, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insists that any military forces aligned with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham will not be allowed south of Damascus. Do you understand what this means? It means that Damascus is now right on the front lines of a conflict between Israel and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham that is rapidly heating up. If all-out war erupts, Damascus is likely to be absolutely devastated.  Of course, many prominent buildings in Damascus have already been turned into piles of rubble, but now it appears that things could be about to go to the next level.
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has confirmed that IDF airstrikes are being conducted in southern Syria, and he is warning that any attempt by forces aligned with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham to enter the security zone in southern Syria “will be met with fire.  Katz said the Israeli Air Force is “now attacking strongly in southern Syria as part of the new policy we have defined of pacifying southern Syria.”’

End-of-the-Age Assessment « Terry James Prophecy Line

This raises the question “Is The Stage Being Set for Damascus to Be Utterly Destroyed and Turned into a Heap of Ruins?” Isaiah 17.

The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

The cities of Aroer are forsaken: they shall be for flocks, which shall lie down, and none shall make them afraid.

The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim, and the kingdom from Damascus, and the remnant of Syria: they shall be as the glory of the children of Israel, saith the Lord of hosts. Isaiah 17:1-3

The other most pressing matter that’s key in these “times of the signs,” concerns Iran’s nuclear development program. Bill Salus writes about this Jeremiah 49:34 prophecy concerning a coming disaster to Elam, the very area in which Iran’s nuclear laboratories are thought to be within the Bushehr mountain range.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has long stated, in every relevant forum, that Iran will never be allowed to produce nuclear weapons. Now his declaration is backed by the US president, whereas the previous American administration did everything within its power to resist Netanyahu’s efforts to thwart the Iranian ayatollah’s determination to produce nuclear military capability. The Trump administration has reversed this policy. Recently the US delivered over 1,800 two-ton bombs capable of destroying or damaging Iran’s nuclear sites.

The aid issue

On 2nd March Israel suspended all humanitarian aid to Gaza after the Hamas terrorist organization rejected a ceasefire extension proposed by Washington. The United Nations and humanitarian organizations have accused it of violating international law, describing it as ‘a resumption of the war-crime starvation strategy.’

Under international law, Israel is neither bound nor morally obligated to provide sustenance to Gaza. The Israeli government suspended aid to persuade Hamas to release its hostages, whom they’ve been torturing and starving for 17 months in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. What’s more, it is Hamas that is starving Gazans.

According to international law, it is Hamas’s job, as Gaza’s ruler, to provide sustenance for its people. Instead, Hamas hijacks the humanitarian aid and uses it to feed its fighters and sustain itself through black-market trade, rather than feeding its population. Nevertheless, Israel has, until now, facilitated the delivery of bountiful aid into the coastal enclave—enough to feed Gazans for up to six more months, according to Israeli assessments.

Though Israel is not responsible for Gaza’s sustenance, it has provided abundant aid.  From the start of the war until Jan. 17, 2025, Israel facilitated more than 1.3 million tons of aid entering Gaza. Since the ceasefire began on Jan. 19, more than 25,000 aid trucks carrying food, water and medicine have entered the Strip, plus more than half a million tents and 2,100 fuel tankers. Pictures and clips of markets in Gaza stocked with food abound on the internet. Meanwhile, CNN reported that Hamas terrorists laughed at starving hostages as their captors ate full meals in front of them.

Hamas then steals the aid, eats and uses it, then sells the remainder to merchants on the black market, who, in turn, sell it to ordinary Gazans at exorbitant prices. If Gazans are going hungry, it is Hamas depriving them of food, not Israel.  Israeli officials estimate Hamas has stockpiled supplies sufficient for four to six months.

Ironically, it is Hamas that instigated the war and Hamas’s responsibility to provide for its people. Hamas is illegally stealing humanitarian aid, which gives Israel the right to stop such aid.

Big Ben for Palestine

A man was arrested on 9th March after scaling Big Ben’s Elizabeth Tower at the Palace of Westminster, one of the world’s most iconic landmarks. This pro Palestine stunt that caught the world’s attention, as photographs throughout the day showed him sitting on the ledge with the Palestinian flag and a traditional Palestinian keffiyeh scarf wrapped around the decorative stonework on the tower. “Shouts of “Free Palestine” and “You Are A Hero” could be heard from a group of supporters at Victoria Embankment.  Questions are asked about how he breached security at one of the most secure buildings in the country.

This follows an incident on 23rd February when the slogan ‘From the river to the sea’ was projected onto Big Ben.  The Metropolitan police declared this was not a criminal offence and did nothing about it.  A statement from the Met said, ‘This is a chant that has been frequently heard at pro-Palestinian demonstrations for many years and we are very aware of the strength of feeling in relation to it. While there are scenarios where chanting or using these words could be unlawful depending on the specific location or context, its use in a wider public protest setting, such as last night, is not a criminal offence.’

Actually it is an offence under the law, since people need permission from both the Commons speaker and Westminster City Council planners to legally project anything onto the side of the Houses of Parliament. The European Jewish Congress described the Met’s decision as ‘absolutely appalling’, saying,

“This antisemitic chant is a rallying cry used by Hamas terrorists calling for the destruction of the State of Israel.”
