Let’s just have a word of prayer.
Lord, we thank you for your word and pray you bless the time together and help me Lord to share as led by you, in Jesus’ Name, amen. Amen, praise God.
Living in troubled times? I’m going to read a little section of Psalm 37 before I get into the message which I think speaks to us as where our trust should be psalm 37 verse 1:
Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. 4 Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. 6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. 8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off; But those who wait on the Lord, They shall inherit the earth. 10 For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more. 11 But the meek shall inherit the earth, And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
Psalm 37.1-11
Praise the Lord!
You can look around and see all the wicked doing all sorts of wicked things all over the world. Yet, when you look at the Lord, He tells you to rest in Him, wait patiently for Him, He says: ‘don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who uses wicked devices, but trust in the Lord and know that He’s going to have the last word’.
And no matter how much, whether it’s Mr Putin or anybody else does to cause harm and evil in the world, in the end, they’re going to come down and ‘the meek shall inherit the earth, shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace’.
The meek of those who have put their trust in the Lord through Yeshua Jesus the Messiah. It says we’re going to inherit the earth. So, no matter what happens, the Lord is going to have the last word.
That also means that the world’s not going to be blown up by a nuclear war because, if it’s blown up by the nuclear war, there won’t be anything to inherit. Therefore, God is going to have His way and look after the world until Jesus returns which, I believe, is not too far away.
