But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come 2 Timothy 3.1

Just before I speak, I received a newsletter from Hanna who’s one of the people we are in contact with within Israel. She’s in the Yezreel Valley House Fellowship in Northern of Israel and I’m just going to make it available. So, if you want to take some, you can. I’ll leave it on the table at front.

Here, she speaks about the present situation in Israel. The military situation on the ground, fears of the attacks from Iran which are still ongoing because there’s a possibility that Iran is going to hit back at Israel any time now. So, we need to pray that that doesn’t happen.

Also, Hanna speaks of the prospects for a peace settlement. She says:

“it seems the war might be winding down with new negotiations underway for the release of the hostages and an armistice agreement with Hizbullah.  The problem remains to find a trustworthy international force to enforce the conditions of such a peace agreement, i.e. to prevent Hizbullah from re-arming and retrenching themselves on our northern border, as well as finding a governing body in Gaza that will not allow Hamas to regroup themselves again. This needs our serious prayer.
American and European envoys are shuttling to and from Israel at the moment to help install ceasefires in the war zones. But my concern is that we will accept conditions that are detrimental for Israel’s future, since everyone is already so weary of this constant tension, which is exacerbated by the media reports. Most of our soldiers have had only short breaks during the yearlong campaigns and are battle-weary, many suffer from PTSD; thousands are injured and the nation is traumatized on the whole.”

Perhaps these things don’t come out in the news, but we should pray for Israel on that. She also says:

“we all long for peace with our enemies, even if it is temporary; our hearts are moved for the plight of the poor Gazan, Lebanese and Iranian people, for our war is not with them, but with the terror governments they suffer under.”

And she speaks about the spiritual warfare involved and got some very good points on that I won’t go into that for sake of time. But I do recommend that newsletter to you. It’s from an Israeli believer in the land of Israel.

Let’s just have a word of prayer as we come to the Word of God.

Lord, we do thank you for your Word. We thank you that it’s the truth. We thank you Lord that you’ve given us your Word as a guide to our lives, and as a lamp to our path and pray that you bless the reading and the preaching of your Word now.

We pray also for Israel. We pray for the needs of the people there. We pray that you will help those who are suffering from the stress and the the pain, and the deaths, and the war. And we pray for people on both sides Lord, who are suffering because of the war.

Lord, we long for the war to come to an end, but we also long for a just settlement that will preserve the borders of Israel and keep the people safe. We pray this in Jesus name, amen, Amen.
